It is situated a short stroll away from the village inn which serves good food. It is also a 4 minute drive to another equally lovely pub in the next pretty village of Milton Combe. With rugged Dartmoor on your doorstep and Devon and Cornwall s beautiful and unspoilt beaches within easy reach you will find there is so much to do in this area. Enjoy some of the stunning moorland walks or you could visit local Sheepstor and see the cottage and localities used in the film Warhorse. There are golf courses horse riding coarse fishing and cycle hire available locally. Dog walkers are now welcome (NEW) to enjoy estate walks at the National Trust Buckland Abbey estate (former home of Sir Francis Drake a 4 minute drive). Also the newly acquired /opened Cider House gardens close by (a 3 minute drive) are a haven of tranquillity. This property has an extensive range of events and workshops for all the family. Other National Trust properties include Cothele Antony Saltram Lydford Gorge and Wembury / Bovisand beaches are all within easy reach. Adjoining the village The Garden House gardens and tearoom are easily walkable from the cottage and are a favourite of gardening T.V.presenters. The ancient market town of Tavistock (voted best Market Town 2011) is charming with its covered market attractive shops and farmers markets. Plymouth (10 miles) offers a wide variety of restaurants and features the new Fearnley Whittingstall s River Cottage Restaurant and City shops but also has its Historic Barbican and Hoe Theatre Royal and Vue cinema complex as well as the National Marine Aquarium. Morwellham Quay (featured in Edwardian Farm) The Eden Project Whitsand Bay and attractive seaside villages and beaches such as Polperro and Port Isaac (featured in Doc Martin) are within easy reach. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king size and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge: with woodburner (first basket of logs free) TV Freeview DVD and CD. Kitchen/diner: lovely farmhouse-style with Rayburn extra electric 4 ring hob with oven microwave/oven/grill washing machine and fridge/freezer. Outside: sheltered garden to the rear of the property approached via a few steps or rear slope next to the old dairy. Amenities: roadside parking with side lane allowing off-loading of luggage. Bed linen towels electric central heating and Wi-Fi included. Stairgate available. 1 medium size dog welcome (must be kept in the kitchen.) Regret no smoking. Additional info: the owners offer painting drawing classes and bread making classes by arrangement. Fresh eggs provided from their hens upon arrival and home grown seasonal produce can be picked from the owner s allotment. Free Wi-Fi powered by BT Cloud is available at the pub at Drake Manor which is a stone s throw from the cottage. Location: beach 10 miles shop 2 miles pub in easy walking distance.
